March Meeting

Presentation

MeshCore: Overview, Comparison, and How-To Demos - Kevin Samson, KI7DEE

Mesh communications is a decentralized system of devices connected to each other in a network, allowing data to be sent and received through multiple paths.

MeshCore is the latest implementation of mesh communications, joining Meshtastic as a method of wireless text messaging without relying on cellular or satellite infrastructure. Kevin will cover how the MeshCore network works and how to get started sending messages over it.

About the Speaker: Kevin Samson, KI7DEE, was first licensed in 2016 after a Microsoft coworker introduced him to the hobby. Besides his passion for Parks On The Air and operating whenever and wherever he can, Kevin builds custom drones and is an avid videographer.

Join In Person

Get to know your fellow amateurs! Before and after the meeting, it's common for people to bring items to talk about, ask questions, or just chat. Feel free to bring your dinner to enjoy during the program.

We monitor the 2m alternate call channel (146.580). If you need an escort, call when you arrive and wait near the entrance—someone will come get you. Bring your HT and help with this process!

No radio? Join the Teams meeting and let us know in the chat that you need help.
